Accessibility Statement for African Adventures

African Adventures is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We want everyone who visits our site to feel welcome and be able to find the information they need, whether they’re a school, a volunteer, or a charity partner.

Using Our Website

We aim to ensure that our website can be used by as many people as possible. That means you should be able to:

  • Navigate most of the website using a keyboard or screen reader
  • Zoom in up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • Use the site on mobile devices and tablets
  • Understand content written in clear, simple language

We are continually working to improve our accessibility, but we know that some parts of the site are not yet fully accessible. These may include:

  • Some PDF documents that are not yet screen-reader friendly
  • Videos without captions or transcripts
  • Certain interactive elements that may not work perfectly with assistive technology

What We’re Doing

We are in the process of reviewing our digital platforms to ensure they meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

African Adventure standards

We are working with our web developers to address known issues. We are also training our team to ensure new content is accessible for all from the start.

Our Broader Commitment

African Adventures works alongside our charity partner, the African Adventures Foundation, to support community-led development projects in Kenya, Ghana, and Zanzibar. We believe accessibility doesn’t stop online — and we’re committed to making our volunteer experiences inclusive wherever possible.

If you’re a volunteer or team leader with specific accessibility needs (mobility, sensory, health, etc.), please reach out to our team. We’ll work with you to understand your requirements and support you throughout your journey.
